Why I Built Go Find Asia: A Life Beyond the Ordinary

After years of chasing deadlines in the high-stakes world of finance, life threw me a curveball I couldn’t ignore. A serious accident made me pause, reflect — and ask the question we often bury under routine: “Is this really it?”

What followed was a slow but deliberate shift. I left the boardrooms behind and headed to Southeast Asia, not for escape — but for reconnection. With myself. With people. With place.

Go Find Asia was born out of this journey. Not as a highlight reel, but as a living journal of what it means to step off the treadmill and rediscover life through travel — honestly, curiously, and sometimes clumsily.

Here, you’ll find:
• Local stories and daily reflections from life in Thailand (and beyond)
• Travel guides that blend real-world advice with personal insight
• Cultural snapshots, food moments, photo walks, and the odd “what the hell am I doing?” moment too

Photography plays a big role in how I see the world now. Slowing down to frame a shot has taught me as much about life as travel has. I’m currently building a photography portfolio and print store, where I’ll be sharing images from across Asia — from quiet alleys to vibrant markets, and everything in between.

I’m also working on a series of books and essays — part memoir, part travelogue — reflecting on the shift from high-pressure career to a slower, more intentional life. And for something a little different, I’ve started writing a fast-paced action novel series set right here in Asia — a creative outlet that blends my love of storytelling with the landscapes and characters I meet along the way.

This isn’t luxury travel. It’s not all budget travel either. It’s about real travel — the kind that shapes you.

If you’re craving something more from life — a slower pace, a deeper connection, a new chapter — then welcome. You’re in the right place.

Writing With Heart

Every blog post is written like a journal entry — thoughtful, useful, and occasionally scribbled at midnight over street food.

A Launchpad, Not a Landing Page

This site connects you to my travel guides, photography, and books. It’s part blog, part compass, part creative studio.

Less ticking boxes, more meaningful moments. Travel that lingers in your memory.

The Guy Behind the Site

Who I Am
I’ve always had a bit of a gypsy heart. Long before this site existed — long before I ever clicked “publish” — I was dreaming of something freer. Something slower. Something that didn’t involve endless work meetings and 60-hour weeks.

But life has its seasons. For years I was deep in the hustle — building a career, juggling family, doing what I thought I was supposed to do. And then came the crash.

Literally.

A car accident in Thailand changed everything. I broke my neck. I almost didn’t walk away from it. Somewhere between the painkillers and the fluorescent lights of a Thai emergency room, it hit me: this could’ve been it. And if that was going to be the end… it wasn’t the story I wanted.

Why I Travel Now
So I started again. I left the life I had built, and started building a new one — this time with fewer rules and more sunsets. I swapped pressure for peace. Deadlines for early morning hikes. I chased passion instead of performance. Writing. Photography. Muay Thai when I get the chance. The occasional beer (or three) with mates.

I still hustle — but now it’s for the life I want, not the one I used to feel trapped in.

How I Travel
These days, I wander Asia with a camera in hand, a notebook in my bag, and sand under my feet whenever I can help it. I’m not chasing luxury, but I won’t say no to it either. Sometimes I camp. Sometimes I splurge. I’ll do a hostel night here or there just to meet good people. It’s not about extremes — it’s about balance. And connection. Because even when I travel solo, I believe the best moments in life are meant to be shared.

Why Go Find Asia Exists
Go Find Asia is my way of sharing what I’ve found — and what I’m still looking for. It’s for the ones who feel stuck. The ones still dreaming. The ones waiting for a sign. It’s a collection of slow journeys, real moments, and the beautiful chaos that happens when you finally say yes to something different.

If this site makes you smile, helps you plan, or just makes you feel a little less alone — then it's already doing what it was made to do.

A Few Truths
I love ice cream. I don’t like shoes. I stop for cats. I get distracted by sunsets. And I believe ocean waves fix most things.
